Road Trip Games (a.k.a. Practicing Cooperation in the Guise of Fun!)

Another great resource recommended for your Summer reading! Our family loved road trips and I plan to use some of these great ideas for our long trip in a couple of months!

We typically venture out on a number of small road trips during the summer months taking advantage of the freedom and warm weather. It’s tempting to hand a child an iPad and allow the video games and programs to fill the idle time. Then I think back to my own road trips as a child, sometimes thirteen hours in a non-air-conditioned car, and of course, with no handy portable device to fill my time. I recall being happily consumed with my crayons and a sketch pad. I filled every single page with drawings of sand castles, mermaids and sea creatures anticipating our vacation at the beach.
